Winter Garden Terrace
The tropical plants were removed to make way for a winter theme that will dazzle dinner guests and warm hearts till spring.
Warm lights on textured greens and upright structures are placed in the containers around the dining area…the Halifax Public Library is pretty on the skyline at dusk.
This project was timed to be completed just prior to a dinner party scheduled for the weekend. A mid-week hurricane blew through but our crew caught the end of it on installation day.
THE SHE SHED team is dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction; no matter what the weather!
Artistic garden sculpture are dazzling in this installation. Made of heavy metal and powder coated with high gloss white paint, they will stand up to the winter wind and weather coming off the Halifax harbour.
Lanterns with candles are timed to turn on at dusk. The strand lighting has an “on and off fading” feature that draws attention at night by creating a dreamy and engaging atmosphere.
Six varieties of textured evergreens are complemented by sugar pinecones, garden sculpture and warm lighting.
Small planters along the windows have suitably scaled elements including tea lights on timers and sprigs of natural tiny buds.
Soft, warm lights, matte white planters, and high gloss white sculptures create contrast and a dreamy atmosphere at dusk. Perfect for long winter evenings…
At night, the Halifax Public Library is a beacon looking southwest from the terrace.
Fall and winter outdoor entertaining never looked so good. A beautiful setting that draws guests outside to enjoy the view of downtown Halifax.
Location: Spring Garden Road, Halifax
Client Goals: Winter Terrace Garden
While holiday entertaining in December was top of mind for this client, he wanted an elegant and heart-warming winter themed terrace garden that would be beautiful until spring.
The summer tropical plants were removed, potting mix topped up and a lovely foundation of evergreens installed using six varieties for textured interest.
High gloss lanterns and sculptural orbs are highlights in larger planters with 9 inch sugar pine cones and smaller design elements as accents or placement in smaller planters.
With dusk falling earlier and shorter days, lighting was a key element for this project. Large lanterns with candles, smaller lanterns with tea lights and strand lighting were placed on synchronized timers so that the lights came on at the same time. The lighting illuminates the outdoor living space and creates a dreamy atmosphere.
